Colin Mackay, VP of Engineering, Teledyne Paradise Datacom

Colin Mackay (B.Sc. Hons, M.Sc.) is Vice President of Engineering at Teledyne Paradise Datacom.  He started his career as a real-time software engineer with large multi-national companies, rising to become Chief Software Engineer. He then became head of engineering for a start-up specializing in digital video networking products.  In his role at Paradise he has overseen many industry firsts, including the first comprehensive suite of embedded TCP/IP features in a satellite modem, the pioneering of web-browser satellite link diagnostic tools and the development of the first ‘software defined’ satellite modem. He has a particular interest in helping satellite users manage TCP/IP strategy for current and future satellite applications.
